Theosophy

A belief, founded in 1875 by the eccentric Russian noblewoman, Helena P. Blavatsky (who was married at 16 years old to a governement official who was 41! she ran away three months after her marriage to join a circus in Constantinople, ROCK ON!).

Theosophy is the belief that the human spirit is immortal, but that it lives (over the course of eternity) in different bodies. It is the belief that a soul must become perfect before moving on to the next stage of evolution. Perfection can only be gained through the experience of everything, every pain and hardship, every joy and wonder. So this is a belief focused around re-incarnation and spiritual evolution.

It also holds that there is a "Deific Absolute Essence, infinite and unconditioned … from which all starts, and into which everything returns." essentially that everything in existence is "god" and once all beings have attained the furthest point of evolution, all things become that "god" again.

What a beautiful way to pecieve life, the purpouse of life and the beauty of all things in existence. A really good reason to respect the environment and all parts of it... Once you were a tree, or one day you will be, once you were a cow, like the one on your plate, you've even been one that ended up on a plate, or one day you will be, so, really, you're simply disrespecting an aspect of yourself when you disrespecting a part of the environment.

This is not a belief I was introduced to by people, this is one I kind of figured out myself about ten years ago. Before now I had difficulty explaining it, I found out Theosophy about a month ago, at last I have a name for it lol.

Whilst I agree with the beliefs of Theosophy, I disagree that the spirit can be called a "human spirit" as we are but one of the countless billions of life forms out there (I also believe we can add planets, stars, galaxies and deities to the list of beings we will incarnate as) I prefer to call the spirit..... well, spirit, it's all encompassing.
